Brand New Reproduction 1955 Pocket Hand Warmer from Restoration Hardware Box shows some shelf wear. Copied from back of box: 'Twas a typical mid winter morning in Plattsburgh, New York, 6AM with temperatures a tad below zero, deathly still and quiet with freshly fallen snow. I was in the teenage years, seventeen to be precise, a time when I could commandeer the family car for Saturday Ski trips to Whiteface Mountain. Brutal weather was not a deterrent as I packed a trusted chrome plated pocket hand warmer...a little furnace in a pocket where no furnace had existed before. Our chrome plated lighter fueled hand warmers first surfaced in the 50's and remain darn smart today. I used mine both for wind-whipped chair lift riding and red cheeked descents, and I of course still pack one today. Big guys and gals love gizmos like this...things they fill with fluid and light and battle the elements with. We searched for a year or so to find someone who still made the simple to employ and oh so comfy pocket hand warmer I remember from my teens. Great for skating, skiing, walking and the consummate golf companion for brisk days on the links.
